The Callas

The Callas is the tip of an artistic factory initiated by the brothers Lakis & Aris Ionas.They have exhibited their artwork at Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Family Business gallery (NYC), Dakis Joannou DESTE foundation, Faggionato Fine Art, Athens Biennial, AMP gallery, Yinka Shonibare Space, The Breeder gallery, ATOPOS cvc etc.

The band The Callas are Aris (guitar and vocals) and Lakis (drums, vocals, bass) Ionas brothers and artistic collaborators (MA Chelsea College of Art), Annita Callasette (keys, vocals) and Marilena (Drums).

They recently recorded their new album with Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Grinderman, Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch,The Cramps) and finished their first feature film Lustlands (HAOS film).

They have performed live in churches, flats, boats, mountains, toilets and with bands such as Grinderman, Au Revoir Simone, You Say Party! We Say Die!, The Wedding Present, Television Personalities, Stereo Total and The Victorian English Gentlemens Club.
