englisch
TOKAME "Tokame" is a twelve-member "Cuban" orchestra with a four-part horn section, staffed by two trumpets, saxophone and trombone, a rhythm section with congas, drums, timbales, piano and bass as well as the three- headed Frontline consisting of two singers and a singer. Notice, that the band does not come from Cuba, but that in the orchestra almost exclusively in Germany and in Switzerland living Cuban professional musicians are playing. Tokame is a high-profile "Allstar Band". Annother feature is the participation of the English singer Aquilla Fearon with their Jamaican roots. The bandleader and composer Branko Arnsek has specially written some salsa title for her in english. The tracks on the new CD "Eres la tierra mas linda" (You are the most beautiful country ... meant, of course Cuba) have names such as "Dime que tu quieres" (Tell me what you want), a "guaracha" with pop influences, but also for Timberos quite danceable, or "Look at me", a "conga" (the carnival music from Santiago de Cuba), very fresh, almost dancefloorable. The Frontline of Tokame Aquilla shares with Mayelis and Michel. Each of the three singers has their own tailored songs. The Spanish texts are written by Maria Luz Laffita. Michel sings the Chagui "En la casa de Vicente", the secret favorite of the orchestra, or the Timba "Esa mujer" or the theme song "Eres la tierra mas linda", a purebred cuban Salsa in the style of Los Van Van, the famous Cuban orchestra. For Mayelis Maria wrote the Rumba "No te meta con migo" (Do not mess with me), the Guaracha "Mentiroso" (Liar) or the Merengue "Se acabo el abuso" (The abuse is over). In addition to these vocal numbers, the orchestra also plays instrumental tracks to feature the musicians of the band such as Ardiles Ruiz, who has been immortalized with his solos on CDs of Orquesta Reve, or Yuliski Gonzales, who played in bands like Havana D Primera or the "Nuevos Classico de Son" from Nene, or Dalia Prada, the pianist and bandleader of the Cuban women`s band "Son Damas". Then there are titles like the Danzonete "Danzoneton" and the Latin jazz tune "El paseo". Tokame ́s musical concept satisfies the Cuban audience or the Salsa dancers as well as the lover of jazz, latin jazz and world music. Tokame plays live in the main at festivals and galas but also in clubs. The current Live Cast: Aquilla Fearon, Michel Valdes Martinez, Mayelis Guyat, vocals; Alexander Febles Cachacha, Felix Hernandez, Maurice Remedios, Percussion: Oslen Ceballo Brian, Yuliesky Gonzales, trumpets; Ardiles Ruiz, trombone; Tony Martinez, saxophone; Dalia Prada, piano, Branko Arnsek, bass and lead.
