BreslauOCN (formerly known as Ocean) formed in 2001 in Wroclaw, Poland, and has established itself over the years. They recorded five highly acclaimed albums and played hundreds of concerts. Ocean`s singles were frequently featured on radio and tv playlists, and music charts.
The turning point in the bands carreer was definitely Sziget -- one of Europe`s biggest festivals. Their new songs were noticed by the organizers -- and so, Ocean got invited to the represent Poland on the 20th anniversary festival. They performed some of their older songs in English -- and premiered some brand new material. After that, the band went straight into the Rolling Tapes studio to record their first new single. "Waterfall" debuted at fourth place in Poland`s biggest rock charts in its debut week -- and soon topped the charts.
With the beginning of 2013 Ocean is joining the worldwide Warner Music Group family of bands. The international contract includes recording the English-language album "Waterfall" as well as management and booking. The album was produced by the Grammy-winning producer Vance Powell (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Kings Of Leon, The Dead Weather), who came over to Poland in January to personally supervise the project. In the wake of these recent events the band decided to abbreviate the name to OCN.
The new album is scheduled for an April release. "The First Cut" was chosen to be the second single.
