these 4 words are almost everything needed to describe what the pussybats stand for. but you won't still know less than a little bit of whats needed to understand the dark magic spread by this band and its music, made only for a single purpose: to take possesion over your heart and never let you go. once heard, once seen, you'll never get them out of your head. whether straightforward-rock-your-ass-out riffs, fairy melodies, whether ultra-heavy or fragile, scary or fairy, sinister or innocent: there is a special atmosphere in this music, there is some spirit which is not to desribe. you gotta feel it. gothic, dark, gloomy, melancholic, all of these empty words cannot by far live up to the real thing.
but, you may ask, who are these four horsemen of rock'n'roll apocalypse exactly? where do they come from, and what kind of fate had brought them together? well, no one knows the answers. as any divinbe entities, their origin and destiny lies forsaken in the mists of time. some say, they are decendants of transylvanian lords of the middle ages, who doomed their souls and handed them over to the devil himself. others say, they are just broke, semi-talented next-door musicians, who're just trying to adapt to some kind of marketing hype... who knows? and who cares? what is known are their names: we've got the freaked-out bassplayer mad marple, seemingly creeped out directly of a 70ies-horror-movie or an early alice-cooper-video... and guess what? he really is. counterpart? charismatic guitarplayer roy rock. no need to say more, the name stands for itself. drummer joe x drops the beats from behind. and last not leech: sid van sin, the vocalist, a kind of a multiple personality, split between gothic lord of darkness, fucked up rock'n'roll-shouter and melancholic. emotional, vulnerable day-dreamer.
since they met under mysterious circumstances in the south of germany (kirchheim/teck) in spring 2005, they've instantly grabbed the spot on the soundtrack of the independent film "one by one" (see media-area for downloads) and are currently writing material to get ready to haunt stages all over germany and wherever they're paid for. not with money... with souls. with the souls from each and everyone in the audience which gets lost to the pussybats' music, charismatic performance or their thrilling live show.
