AthenAutomaton, a psychedelic doom band from Athens, Greece were formed in 2011 and have been performing live since mid-2012. They have participated in various shows and festivals (Desertfest Athens, Urban Fest, New Long Fest) and have shared the stage with excellent bands of the scene such as Pentagram, Suma, Yob and they have collaborated with artists like Psarantonis, Dr Space and NAAM.
Automaton is characterized as a loud and heavy doom act but apart from slow tempi and down tuned guitars, they blend heavy riffs, repetitive minimalistic patterns and psychedelia into their own style.
