About new album 2006

AMULET – ”All That Is Solid Melts Into Air”.

AMULET - Scandinavia’s most persistent hardcore band - is out with their new album ”All That is Solid Melts Into Air”.

It has been recorded in the legendary Tonteknik Recording in Umeå, Sweden. The renowned producers Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lövström have an impressive catalogue (Refused ”The Shape of Punk To Come” is a definite classic, lately they’ve produced Kinison, Poison The Well and Britain’s Hell Is For Heroes). With more than 20 years as producers, they have developed their own “no BS” production philosophy that always results in a distinct, cutting edge sound: Direct and raw, but still complete.

The 1st single Warpriest defines the sound and temper of fast paced hardcore in 2005 and beyond. We are talking modern, catchy aggression with groove. The melody and precision is undisputable. Elite songwriting and performance. Check out this intense performance video on http://www.golfrecords.co.uk or http://www.amulet.com.

The 2nd single Crash Into My Room reveals the more melancholy side of Amulet. And now we are touching upon the nature of ATISMIA: Each song lives its’ own life, weaved together by the distinct and close-up sound of the band. Few hardcore bands posses the width and skills of Amulet. Although citing Minor Threat and Bad Brains as their musical heritage, Amulet is not about retro punk sentiments. Examples? Check out Sparks with the 7-beat chorus, the emo fueled Wishing For a Hurricane, or the gloomy Solid that builds and builds to the end.

Drummer Jonas plays with style and authority, as bassist Rasmus always fits like a hand in the drumset glove so to speak. Espen pours his guitar into the listeners right ear, and screams his heart out with phrases like ”lie dead!” and ”it’s been a wasted year”. Main songwriter and guitarist Lars plays to the point, yet with an open, impulsive style. The skilled vocalist and raging front figure Torgny is spot on, but more varied than ever before. The lyrics are dark, alienated and longing. Freedom and death are key words here. As Torgny sings in the opening track: ”You wanna live? You gotta make a mess!” or ”I wish for a hurricane, like speech in a dead language.”

10 songs, hardly any room in between them. The sound of a band who hammered down the songs in just 17 days. “All That Is Solid Melts Into Air” just grows and grows.

PS: Play LOUD!
