One year after the release of their highly acclaimed debut album „The Mustache Mozart Affaire“ the warp drive is fired up again to shoot three men with superluminal velocity into the spacerock heaven: On February 15th 2013 Slipstream the new album of Steaming Satellites will be released.
Many things have changed in the Steaming Satellites cosmos. From Salzburg, the stardust first showered the Alpine Republic and then quickly moved on across the entire German-speaking region and even far beyond. Now their spacerock is driven through the whole atmosphere, even around the world. In 2009, they were touring the US together with Hello Electric, followed by a tour with their friends from Portugal. The Man (2010 & 2011). In 2012 Steaming Satellites toured Scandinavia and Spain with Two Gallants. In January 2013, the band is going to play at the Eurosonic Festival in Groningen/Netherlands. The gates of the music universe seem wide open.
Also the band transformed music-wise. Added new (soul-)elements to their sound, reducing it at some points and expanding it at others. The unique, highly distinctive voice of Max Borchardt is still forming a link between all songs, but there is greater emphasis on electronic sounds now. Complex structures combine to draw an acoustic evolution. Nevertheless, the band is still an indie rock band in their hearts and spirit, deeply rooted in the music of the 70s, carrying the heavy weight of Led Zeppelin, the spherical range of Pink Floyd and the explanatory power of Bob Dylan.
On February 15th, 2013 Max Borchardt, Emanuel Krimplstätter and Matthäus Weber will release their new album Slipstream, again in the magical musical forest of The Instrument Village.
From March on, they will be touring Austria, Germany and Switzerland together with their friends Hustle & Drone from Portland/Oregon. Followed by the conquering of Europe, on tour and at numerous festivals.
