Biography
American Roots Rocker STACIE COLLINS is blazing a trail traveled by few women. Sporting a hard-core honky-tonk wail, backed by a slam-bang rock and roll band, she weds stones fried rock-n-roll, gut bucket blues and vintage honky-tonk.
Produced by rock legend Dan Baird (The GA Satellites & Homemade Sin), her latest album “The Lucky Spot” became a fan favorite and received airplay all over the world. A ten song, southern rockin, harp howlin blues romp, had it been released twenty or thirty years ago it would have sounded as natural on 70’s fm radio alongside ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones as it would next to contemporary rockers like The Black Crowes or Drive-By Truckers.
Based in Nashville, Stacie tours the US, Scandinavia and Europe regularly with her band including rocker husband / bass player Al Collins (Jason and the Scorchers).
Appearing in a host of publications, one writer summed Stacie up as “A bad-ass gritty babe who takes no shit, honed her barstool feminism in road houses and honky-tonks and wails on a mean blues harp”. Another one credited her as a leader in the “Outlaw Country” movement stirring in Nashville boasting “Collins shows those plastic gals what real music is supposed to sound like”. As the co-writer of her own songs, Stacie was especially honored to learn her music has spawned a “Stacie Collins” Japanese tribute band.
Currently she is finishing up her third album (the second produced by Baird) due out this fall titled “Sometimes Ya Gotta”. It’s packed with 12 tracks of giddy up, rattle and roll and features an amazing list of players including the guitar work of Warner E. Hodges, Eric ‘EBO’ Borash and Dan Baird, plus the bad-ass rhythm section of Al Collins on bass and Jimmy Lester on drums.
