Human.Techology, the newcomers’ current album, is very much of our time - a time that’s characterised by hedonism and isolation. The album is located in that explosive, highly topical zone between technology and humanity. The songs dance lightly and confidently across this field of conflict, and their infectious mixture of harmony with just the right degree of defiant dissonance gives rise to emotions that all those who find themselves confronted with similar contradictions can relate to. This is pop music for the present day, drawn from the depths of the soul and backed with a single-minded drive.

Soul
Noah Veraguth is the most obvious embodiment of the PEGASUS soul. With a Brazilian mother and a Swiss father, PEGASUS’ soundworld, its disregard for boundaries, is already effectively in his blood. Noah’s interests are wide-ranging, but his focus is always on the music. As the (tousled) head of the band, a composer, multi-instrumentalist and lead singer, he controls the band’s destiny and shapes what it has to say, but he always stresses that the most important aspect of the band is that it’s an almost fraternal collective. These four boys have been through a great deal together in the many years since PEGASUS was founded. From childhood on they were sharing song ideas and a basement rehearsal room. This has forged them into a kind of collective that’s a rare find in the fast-paced, short-lived music business.

Determination
The four members of the band are barely in their twenties, but they’re already hardened professionals with plenty of touring experience. In their home country they’ve rocked pretty much everything from caves to stadiums, and on their long and arduous journey to the top they’ve matured into a band that’s in a league of its own, made up of single-minded, true musicians. However, after countless live gigs and two albums, euphorically received by both fans and the press, in early 2010 PEGASUS found itself at a turning point. With their customary determination they took this period of creative crisis as an opportunity to turn everything on its head: their routine, their environment, and their whole sound. It was a gamble that paid off. Human.Technology went platinum in Switzerland, and the single Skyline topped the charts. Their friendship was now cemented even more firmly, their focus even sharper than before.
This new beginning - a kind of internal revolution - is something you can hear and feel in every chord of the current album, Human.Technology. The band has arrived in the present and is taking it on with stunning candour.
The new songs contain references to the Mars landing (Man on Mars), the pressures of society and the desperation these can provoke (Technology), the triumph and fall of the Urban Generation (Skyline), and the dark side of society (City LIghts), as well as depression and the hope that can emerge from it (Rise Up (Black Dog)). The songs’ musical spectrum ranges from dance to pop to epic stadium-rock. However:

PEGASUS are the pinnacle of new Swiss pop. This has overcome its reservations, becoming daring and innovative and creating a new sound that’s all its own.
